Deck of Cards

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

1. Overview

Deck of Cards is a virtual multiplayer card game for iOS. To enable real-time play between devices, the app connects to a server we operate at cards.himon.dev. Room state is held entirely in memory and is automatically deleted when all players disconnect or after one hour of inactivity. We do not maintain any persistent database of your activity.

2. Information transmitted during a session

When you join or create a game, the following information is sent to our server for the duration of the session:

  • The display name you choose before entering a room.
  • The room code you create or join.
  • In-game actions (dealing cards, playing cards, etc.).

This data exists only in the server's memory while the room is active. Once the room closes, all data is discarded and cannot be recovered.

3. Data we do not collect

Deck of Cards does not collect, store, or sell:

  • Your real name, email address, or any account information.
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs.
  • Location data.
  • Analytics or usage statistics sent to us or any third party.
  • Any data that persists beyond the lifetime of a game session.

There are no user accounts, no sign-up, and no persistent backend records.

4. Nearby (offline) mode

When using Nearby mode, your device communicates directly with other devices on the same local network using Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework. No data is transmitted to our servers in this mode. All game state remains on your local devices.

5. Third-party services

Deck of Cards does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only network communication is with our own server at cards.himon.dev during online play.

6. Children

Deck of Cards does not collect any persistent personal data from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for all ages. Because no data is stored beyond an active session, there are no special requirements around children's data.

7. Security

All communication between the app and our server is encrypted in transit using TLS (wss://). Session data is never written to disk on our server.

8. Changes

If we change this policy in a material way (for example, if we introduce any persistent data collection), we will update this page and communicate the change through the app. Continued use of Deck of Cards after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
